DESCRIPTION:
Mvt only - E. Howard & Co, Boston, Series VII, split-plate model, 17J, N-S (just over 19S), HC model mvt, white enamel DS dial with fancy Arabic numerals in radial orientation, 15-minute intervals in black with intervening 5-minute markers in red, umbrella style hands, SW-SS, nickel damascene with attractive braided pattern at center, s#228002. This movement has the distinction of being just the second split-plate model Howard made by serial number, with the lowest serial numbered split-plate production being this block of Series VII movements starting at number 228001.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, setting mechanism with frequent skipping or slippage, overhaul recommended for setting function, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, missing regulator spring, bright lustrous plate surface with some typical micro-fine scratches, case screws are mismatched; excellent dial with only a short fracture at lower left corner of center section.
